How did you get into agriculture?
I studied geography, organic farming and soil science here in Bonn. After researching Political Ecology in India for several years, I started working on an organic farm in Delhi in 2016. It is simply much more satisfying for me to work on an exciting solution model than to analyse and describe problems over and over again… and to be so close to nature every day outdoors.
What brought you to SoLaWi Bonn/Rhein-Sieg?
I returned to Bonn with my family at the beginning of 2020 and the SoLaWi concept really inspires me. I think it’s time to change not only the way we farm, but also the way we interact and live together. It’s wonderful to experience sharing responsibilities, tasks and the harvest. It’s great that our members come to know the people who grow their vegetables, the place where they’re grown, and have the option to help out at the farm themselves – it tastes better, and the understanding between farmers and (mostly) urban vegetable lovers is really important.
What do you wish for the future of agriculture?
100% organic farming, humus building, biodiversity, small-scale family farms on the wonderful soils often found around cities (especially here), and resilience in the face of climate change.
